The Minority Vote 2010

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,
“Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.”
The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, “You’re in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.
She rolled her eyes and said, “You must be an Obama Democrat.”
“I am,” replied the man. “How did you know?”
“Well,” answered the balloonist, “everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to me.”
The man smiled and responded, “You must be a Republican.”
“I am,” replied the balloonist. “How did you know?”
“Well,” said the man, “you don’t know where you are — or where you are going. You’ve risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem.
You’re in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it’s my fault.”
COMMENT: You hear the political pundits say that President Obama´s Democratic Party will not do well during the upcoming election. It’s an easy call based on historical fact (the party in power always loses seats). A big reason according to a poll by the Pew Research Center is that MINORTIES tend to not vote in mid-term elections. Let’s change that
It’s clear that the Republican Party has no interest in helping the President fix the economy or anything else and if they regain power the country will be in far worse shape. We all know that the withering attacks that this President faces daily are really racially motivated. In spite of how the media couches their words we know that white (tea party) America does not believe he should be President under any circumstances.
The President has done many good things that have not been publicized and he deserves our support.
This could be the most important midterm of our generation, encourage your family and friends to participate; the party that got us into this mess are trying to compound what they did, do not allow this to happen. If the Democrats lose control of the Congress the Republicans will not help Obama to govern, thus he becomes a lame duck and the country will be headed over the cliff.

Getting By With A Little Help From Your Friends

By Cireal Americanus

Many people spend time scratching their head as to whether or not Sen. Hillary Clinton should gracefully bow out to allow Sen. Barack Obama the opportunity to pull together a strategy for his General Election bid or continue to battle on.

In other words, the Fat Lady has been singing her song….indicating it is time to leave and the end of the show. However, we see Sen. Hillary Clinton staying for a 5th encore.

Having given it her best shot, (i.e. indicating Sen. Obama was naive for indicating he would talk with both “Friends and Foes”, Insinuating that Sen. Obama believed in Pres. Reagan’s policies and philosophies, former Pres. Bill Clinton’s attempts to make this contest about race and his use of the “Dog Whistle” race card, Questioning Sen. Obama’s ability to be president while indicating she and Sen. McCain alone were the only candidates who passed the “Presidential Qualification test”, characterizing the monumental movement of “Hope” as just speeches and words and minimizing the following as cafe drinking egg-heads, insinuating Sen. Obama was a Muslim, the “3 a.m. attack ad”, continuously running the video loop of Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright, publicizing Sen. Obama’s “Bitter” comment about rural PA.., the spin on the “Gas Tax Holiday” in an attempt to further paint Sen. Obama as an elitist, and her attempt to portray herself as a combat vet under sniper fire), we still find Sen. Barack Obama standing and positioned to secure the Democratic nomination.

These actions and behavior have caused a lot of controversy and harsh feelings toward and for Sen. Clinton. Many have said she has irreparably divided the party along racial, gender, and age lines with no hope of winning the nomination, i.e. the Tonya Harding strategy – if you can’t win, knee cap your opponent so that a win for them is impossibility. This would allegedly allow Sen. McCain the opportunity to obtain a win in the Presidential Election, allowing for Sen. Clinton to pursue a Presidential bid in the fall of 2012.

All to which I say, “Thank you Hillary….for all you have done.” (Genesis 50: 20 (NIV): You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.)

Had it not been for Billary, the most formidable political machine in the world of U.S. Politics, we would have never gotten the opportunity to truly test Sen. Obama in a way that leaves the GOP with nothing more that can be thrown or done but to watch as the first African-American Democratic Presidential nominee passes by on his way to the Presidency.

He has survived the Rev. Wright attack. A recent election in a southern state showed when the Republican candidate brought up the Religion Rantings of the Democratic Candidate’s pastor, it had little to no impact and the Democratic candidate won.

He has reconnected with the middle class white voter, 41% voted for Sen. Obama in both Indiana and North Carolina, while maintaining his connection with the African American community, 90+% voted for Sen. Obama in both Indiana and North Carolina. This in addition to making significant in-roads with Union Households, i.e. “Blue-collar” voters.

There is little to nothing the GOP can throw at Sen. Obama, especially since his opponent is Sen. John McCain, A key contributor to the Savings and Loan debacle of the early 90’s, where More than 1,000 savings and loan institutions (S&Ls) failed in what economist John Kenneth Galbraith called “the largest and costliest venture in public misfeasance, malfeasance and larceny of all time.” The ultimate cost of the crisis is estimated to have totaled around USD$160.1 billion, about $124.6 billion of which was directly paid for by the U.S. government — that is, the U.S. taxpayer, either directly or through charges on their savings and loan accounts– , which contributed to the large budget deficits of the early 1990’s

All that being said, why is no one forcing Sen. Clinton out of this race?

In short, Hillary Clinton’s exit should be as powerful and graceful as her entrance.

She brings 60% of the white vote, 70+% of the White Female vote and people of 65+ years of age vote, in addition to having a strong Catholic and Hispanic base. A contingent that can easily be turned off or turned the other way if they are made to feel their candidate had the nomination unfairly taken away.

With all the emotions that have been generated there must be the grace and sensitivity to allow both sides of the party in this race the opportunity to “Cool Off”.

For Sen. Clinton supporters, this would mean a seating of Michigan and Florida delegates in some form or fashion (while at the same time giving them a sharp smack on the back of the hand for not following the DNC rules), assistance with the amount of Debt she has incurred during her campaign and a Win on a high note from both West Virginia and Kentucky, which she is projected to Win, at which time she can gracefully exit her campaign on a high-note.

The campaign is already sending out its “Dog Whistle” signs that it is accepting defeat.

Watch and stand-by, we will have a UNITED Democratic Party come the November elections….wait and see

Sen. Obama Getting Hot At Right Time

If this were a basketball game, the coach would be screaming to keep getting the ball to Obama because he’s hot and his shot is falling. It isn’t basketball, but the analogy is appropriate because he is definitely the hottest candidate running for the Democatratic nomination. With the Iowa Caucus just 20 days away (January 3, 2008), Sen. Obama has surged ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton in many of the key Iowa Caucus Polls.

The Clinton camp has taken notice and are increasing their criticism and attacks on Sen. Obama. It is surely a sign of panic when someone as “experienced” as Sen. Clinton is referencing a grade school report penned by Barak as a reason to disqualify him as the nominee. Seriously, every kid at one point in their preadolescent lives dreamed of being President of the United States. His dream is looking like one that may be within his grasp.

The Mis-Education Of The African-American Democrat

This may be bitter in the mouth and sweet in the stomach of many. It is very rare, in fact, it is taboo for African-Americans to question their loyalty to the Democratic Party within their communities. The BPR doesn’t walk the line that other so-called African-American organizations do… we speak Truth 2 Power here!

Look no further than the Democratic Party’s website ( to review the agenda of the party of choice for African-Americans.

1. Honest Leadership & Open Government 2. Real Security 3. Energy Independence 4. Economic Prosperity & Educational Excellence 5. A Healthcare System That Works For Everyone 6. Retirement Security

Where are the political planks that deal specifically with the African-American agenda? Black on Black crime, fair housing, jobs in the inner city, failing public schools (voucher initiatives), teen pregnancy, Affirmative Action, etc.

Forgive me, they do dedicate 5 sentences to their ongoing commitment to Civil Rights… typical of the dems, keep the African-Americans looking at issues that are not at the forefront of what is progressive for the lifting of the masses of their people.

The dems are more concerned with courting the Latino vote and are invested in getting immigration reforms passed to give citizenship to an estimated 10 – 20 million illegal immigrants. Don’t get it twisted by the term undocumented worker… they are illegal immigrants.

African-Americans no longer carry the favored minority label placed on them by the Democratic Party… that belongs to the Latino community. But don’t blame the dems, African-Americans vote each year at a rate of 90% (or better) for democrats running for office. With this kind of blind loyalty, you are asking to be taken for granted and that is what has happened.

African-Americans would be wise to leverage this voting block in order to force the Democratic and Republican Parties to listen to their concerns and act on their behalf. Since this isn’t happening, the Republicans completely ignore African-Americans because they know they will not get their vote and the Democrats take them for granted because they know they already have their vote.

African-American leadership is complicit in this failure to have an agenda heard by both political systems and needs to change those in charge and set off in a new and progressive direction.

Democratic Party Takes Advantage Of African-Americans

The Democratic Party and its agenda has failed to make a significant impact in the lives and directions of the majority of African-Americans. Yet, this party continues to receive an overwhelming voting advantage over the Republican Party during election cycles.

In 1996, former President Bill Clinton trailed Sen. Bob Dole 46% to 43% among White Americans. He received 84% of the African-American vote and won the election handily. In 2000, Al Gore took 90% of the African-American vote and it helped him with his success in the popular vote.

White Americans are much more evenly split in their support of the two parties. Only a small percentage within their demographic will change their support for a particular party based on swing issues.

Unfortunately, African-Americans are loyal to one party to a fault. The Democratic Party doesn’t have to work to keep their support… they have leverage but don’t know how to excercise it.

The Democratic Party has figured out how to pacify African-Americans with the promise of Health Care, Reformed Public Education, Jobs, Reversing Tax Cuts and Affirmative Action. The party has also understood how to leverage elected African-Americans with backroom deals or promises of positions of power within the party. Yet, every year this promise goes unfulfilled.

Where are the Power Players in the Democratic Party? What was the last major victory for an African-American of any significance within this party? When will the Democratics support them for MAJOR positions within the party?

The Democratic Party is focused more on winning elections than supporting the people that are most responsible for getting them elected.

For African-Americans It’s Obama Or Clinton

Here we go… I’m very interested in how the African-American vote is going to trend for the two anoited Democratic candidates. Will African-Americans cast their lot for a highly educated and accomplished son of Africa in Barack Obama? Or will they support Hillary Clinton who gets a ghetto pass because of the love affair African-Americans have with her husband (aka the first black president)?

This is an interesting development if you slow down and analyze it. I believe the grassroots are leaning strongly for Barack. For example,  a survey by the Mason-Dixon polling firm found that African-American support in South Carolina had pushed Barak ahead of Clinton, giving him the support of 34 percent of likely voters against 25 percent for Clinton.

However, I also believe the established African-American political structure is being pressured to support Clinton. That’s because they owe too much to the Clinton’s and must show their loyalty now or face being bankrupted politically and financially by the power of the Clinton machine.

The most recent example of these marching orders was  revealed on June 13, 2007. The Clinton Campaign announced the endorsement of Florida Congressman Kendrick Meek and named him a Senior Advisor to the Senator and her campaign. “Senator Hillary Clinton is the Democratic candidate with the perfect blend of leadership, talent and intellect to lead our nation in a new direction. It is my honor to endorse Senator Hillary Clinton to be our next president,” Meek said.

Ohio Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones, Virginia State Senator Mamie E. Locke and Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee are also endorsing Clinton campaign.

Never before has the African-American community been split like this on who to support within the Democratic party. I for one am anxious for the first and last ballot to be cast… history can be made one way or the other.
